Yesterday night’s game showed us a new, deep world behind the usual 11 first string players. The cantera, the Masia, indicated us the path to follow. Despite the Champions League game, the away match against a more experienced team, the emotional impact of lot of the Koeman’s guys with the top European competition, they played very well, showing us their impressive football’s skills. In the first leg game, played in Barcelona with the blaugrana’s complete team, the Pesos Pesados suffered a lot against an opponent decimated by the coronavirus. Yesterday, versus a better team, that recovered some of their starting list players, the Ronald’s Band risked nothing in defense. Not only; they put the competitors in a bad situation in a lot of cases. In the starting list there was only two movement’s starting list players, Lenglet and Coutinho. For the rest were, using a bad, unpleasant and unfair word, the so called second lines: a bunch of bad young guys, poor in experience at those level, but with a huge talent, technical ability and football’s skill enough to have a brilliant future in front of their eyes. Everyone played as better they couldn’t. From Mingueza, passing through Dest, Junior, Alena, Pedri, Trincao, to Riqui, Matheu Fernandez and Konrad.
Special mention must go to Braithwaite, the number 9 that didn’t know score (it seems a Alfred Hitchcock title’s movie). In Kiev fairy tale’s night there was glory for Griezmann too. After a very suffered starting season, the French lived yesterday a happy, light-in-soul night. Of course this is a one game only. But they showed to their own trainer they are ready to play every time he wants. Yesterday they got the right to be a real part of the first team with an important and leading role. Yesterday night Alena, Riqui, Mingueza & Co made the club’s future less dark than described. They told to barcelonismo that the economic depression involved the world football, can no touch blaugrana’s color, because if all other clubs need buy players to go on, Barça can look to its cantera to have solid and talented players and proceed in the signed path to look ahead in a confident way.
The game against Dinamo Kiev clarified an other theme. It served, and it will, as warning towards the pesos pesados of the lock room. Behind them a new talented and strong generation is pushing firmly to claim its one’s space in the team. Nowadays no one can afford to lower the intensity and play level. Without exceptions.
